Our Story
Dynamic, Innovative and Young at Heart: That's Us ...
... and This Is Our Story
We have been the strong Swiss partner in plastics pelletizing for almost 50 years. What has remained the same since 1975? Our start-up mentality, which allows us to find new solutions and set new standards every day. This applies both to the perfect composition of your personal regranulate for product manufacture and to the optimization of our production cycle for sustainable and resource-conserving plastics recycling.
2010 - today
2023
- Martin Model hands over the management of the company to his sons Philippe and André Model. The generational change is the starting signal for a strengthening of the organization in various areas and a promise for the future, as new and challenging projects are on the horizon. As history shows, major investments are regularly required to keep pace with growing demands and rapid development.
- Installation and commissioning of the first solar system and a second high-temperature heat pump to replace gas as the energy source for drying. The first heat pump has already been installed in combination with the hot wash.
- With the commissioning of the long and elaborately planned dedusting system, the climate in production can be stabilized. Both the air quality and the temperature will be positively influenced.
2021 - 2022
- In 2022, the production volume of 18,000 tons per year will be exceeded for the first time, with the potential to break the 20,000 tons per year mark soon.
- In 2021, investments will be made in the decontamination of the granulate thanks to growing interest from the packaging industry. The programme consists of the installation of a hot wash for improved cleaning performance, the installation of new mixing technology for better homogenization and the installation of a Zeppelin degassing silo for a cleaner and odourless polymer. Thanks to these investments, the company successfully enters the packaging industry. The first product is the Potz bottle (Mibelle descaler).
2017 - 2019
- An extensive 8 million renovation and investment program will start in 2017. As part of this program, all washing systems will be renewed and equipped with the latest technology.
- Another EREMA extruder 180 of the latest design is installed, for the first time with double filtration for the production of first-class quality films.
2016
- In May 2016, InnoHolding AG acquires the remaining 49% of InnoPlastics AG from the former owner Häusle Holding AG.
2011 - 2014
- In 2011, the production volume of 15,000 tonnes per year is exceeded for the first time, triggering an investment program of around 6 million. This investment already pays off in 2014: the production volume of 16,000 tons per year is exceeded.
- The investments made make it possible to reliably produce regranulate from post-consumer plastic waste, even for demanding applications.
- Among other things, the old Sorema extruders will be successively replaced by modern EREMA extruders with upstream agglomerators. This is already the third technological advance. With the commissioning of the first EREMA 180 with laser filter in 2013 and the commissioning of the INTAREMA 140 in 2014, both performance and product quality have been significantly increased.
- New products are being developed for export. For example, plastic coatings for pipeline pipes or various injection-molded products.
2000 - 2009
2008
- A further technological advance is achieved: the installation of two new, modern shredders with direct drive upstream of the grinders. This reduces the risk of damage, increases output and reduces the workload on staff.
- The establishment of an in-house repair and maintenance department is a successful step in terms of existing technical know-how and maintenance costs.
2007
- Thanks to very good demand in the first half of the year, the production volume of 14,000 tons per year is exceeded for the first time. In the second half of the year, demand decreases and the company switches back to 3-shift operation. This remains the case to this day.
- The installation of automatic BritAS screen changers marks the first technological advance.
2006
- Thanks to good demand, the company temporarily switches to 4-shift operation and a fourth production line is installed as quickly as possible.
2001
- Relocation of the organization and production facilities from Weinfelden TG to the new headquarters in Eschlikon TG. The entire move, including the conversion of the buildings, was completed in less than a year - an organizational masterpiece.
2000
- Woerlen AG is renamed. It becomes InnoPlastics AG, which focuses on the production of regraunlate from plastic waste. At the same time, the sister company InnoRecycling AG is founded with a focus on waste disposal and recycling. This is still under the management of Markus Tonner today.
1975 - 1999
1999
- Model Holding AG in Weinfelden sells Poly Recycling AG. Martin Model's InnoHolding AG and the then Tonner Altstoff AG take over the polyolefin division. The former company Woerlen AG was used as the vehicle for this, which was renamed InnoPlastics AG in May 2000 with new headquarters in Eschlikon TG.
1992
- The first PET recycling plant in Switzerland is built and operated.
1987
- Poly Recycling AG, then a pioneering company in plastics recycling, moves into one of the most modern plastics recycling plants in Europe in Weinfelden.
1975
- Model AG founds Poly Recycling AG in Weinfelden TG
